jackie&mark: married!

greta here.  i’m really at a loss for words here… how do you put into a paragraph what a person means to you who has been one of your best friends since middle school???  you know the story, you grow up and life gets in the way and you rarely get to spend time together any more, but there are those friends who, no matter how little you see them, you never grow apart from them. jackie is one of those friends for me.  the inside jokes and crazy stories will keep me laughing for the rest of my life.  jackie is one of the funniest people on the planet, and she’s also one of the most kind and generous people i’ve ever met.  i’m so crazy happy that she met someone who is so obviously head over heels for her and that they get to spend the rest of their lives together!!  jackie and mark had a halloween themed wedding, which fits them so well.  it was wayyyyy fun, especially because a lot of our other high school best buds were there and it was AWESOME to see them again!  we have plans to all finalllllly get together again around christmas and i can’t WAITTTTTT!!!!!!!!:D

i absolutely LOVE the shoe shot a la “the birds”!!!

jackie’s engagement ring was her grandmother’s!

jackie wore a beautiful locket with her dad’s pic in it so that he could be a part of her and mark’s day.  mr. jack passed away after a long battle with cancer just last year.

that’s miss dona, jackie’s mom. love miss dona, she too is hilarious.

it was so funny, jackie kept saying, “i can’t believe this… i’m wearing a wedding dress… this is so weird…”  hahaha!  i can remember a few years back, jackie saying very confidently something along the lines of not being the marrying type:)  and that’s one of jackie’s best friends and bridesmaid tasha in the pic on the left.

time for the garter. settle down jackie.

not sure what that’s called;)  that’s kelly on the right, also one of my best friends since we were like 14!

check out that awesome pedi!  sadly, i can’t remember the story with the pins… has something to do with when jackie and mark first met… they wore matching pins for the wedding.

first look!

my friend is purty:)

the wedding took place at jackie’s mom’s place.  about ten years ago, jackie’s parents owned a huge piece of land out in the country, and they had not built their dream home there yet (that came a few years later), but jackie’s dad had a hunting cabin built there, and it was a very special place to him (it was also special to us cause we got to go hang out and have sleepovers and stuff there as teenagers. so fun!).  therefore, it was way awesome that jackie’s ceremony took place at her dad’s cabin.  the reception took place up at the house, just a hop skip and a jump from the cabin… however, rather than hop skip or jump, the wedding guests took a hayride from the ceremony at the cabin to the reception at the house.  that was super cool!

baha! i love these 2…

mark had some pretty hilarious stories about his mom!  she was not amused. well, maybe a little.:)

hayride!  and that’s jackie’s aunt debbie, she’s the best!  all the guests were encouraged to dress up, it was SO FUN!!!!

on the left there is one of my bestest friends from way back, andrea, and her beau frank. guess who they dressed as???

the queen of hearts is another of my bestest buds ever, shauna. we were best best BESTTTTTT friends in 9th grade!!  we used to ditch p.e. and draw funny pictures. shauna is super amazing at drawing.  after shauna switched schools, we would write 8 and 10 page letters to each other during class and her cousin, another of our bff’s, lived next door to her and still went to my school, so she was our courier:)

here comes the bride!!!

jackie’s lil bro jeffery walked her down the aisle!

yay, we’re married!

these two sang “i got you babe”. so funny!

the reception…

cake!

first dance…

the entire cast of alice in wonderland!!:)aren’t their costumes GREAT?!?!  “alice” is another of my bff’s from high school, jessica. love these people!

time to jump! this was so fun!!!!!!! til i got stuck! see my foot???

i so love the pic below.  it reminds me of philippe halsman’s jumpology pics, one of my most fav things that ever happened in photography!!  he would show up to take pics of famous celebrities, and ask them to jump.  some said no, but a lot didn’t.  audrey jumped, look at her!:)and look at poor jackie over there stuck in the crack of the jump castle. she’s folded in half! :\

princess peach and mario warming their backsides by the fire…

my husband, in the middle, begged me to get a pic of him with whoever these two are. he was the only one who knew who they were. which leads me to believe it can’t be good.

this is jackie’s brand new nephew!! and he’s a first grandbaby too!

ahem…*cough* amber here.  i think greta forgot to mention how fun it was to get to dress up for a wedding.  i was originally going for the ever popular, last minute 80s costume, but ended up looking like holly from the wedding singer (one of my FAV movies).  and i also got to bring my HUBBY!  so, extra fun.  if you know jared, he doesn’t dress up.  period.  but after much pleading, he ended up with this.  if you’re an office fan, you’ll get this.:)

ok, ok, yes dressing up was fun! here’s a mobile pic of both of us en route to the wedding (and our assistant kaitlin creepin in the back. she so cute!) it was so funny that we both wound up going as “random 80’s chick” until we realized on the way… hey!! amber is holly from the wedding singer and greta is deb from napoleon dynamite!!!!!! hahahaha:)wish i had planned that, i coulda taken a caboodle along.  it made my night when one of the guests yelled out “deb!!!!!!!!” at the reception and i realized they were talking to me!  holly and deb and cute kitty costumery WIN!
